Innovative ICT summer course using Arduino
Introduction
Qatar University Young Scientist Center (QUYSC), affiliated by Qatar University, is a STEM education center and a hub for research activities for K-12 since 2010. The mission of the QUYSC is to meet the national needs for educational and professional development of national youth with cutting-edge and engaging experiences by providing the STEM informal learning programs. The mission is achieved mainly by providing leading-edge K-12 STEM outreach and informal research experience programs. The center offers immense opportunities to students to cultivate their innovative skills and vocational ability and promote their ideas.
Course overview
Information Technology Communication (ICT) is a significant driver of all aspects of life in the current era. Arduino is considered one of the main building blocks in ICT. QUYSC delivers various summer courses that provide unique interactive learning experiences through online platforms. Participants engage across multiple learning modalities to increase their learning experience and their competencies toward success. In this course, participants are introduced to Arduino through various hands-on activities. Students are learning the use of Arduino with electronic circuits and sensors to come up with innovative ideas throughout these activities.
Course Objectives
The objectives of the summer course summarized in the following points:
- Understand what Arduino is, and how does it work?
- Explore the basics of electronic circuits
- Learn about different sensors and their working principle
- Explore the range of hardware and components and build various projects
- Acquire 21st century quintessential skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, and presentation skills.
Mentoring Team
Our experts in QUYSC include researchers, scientists, and engineers and will be dedicated to providing an exceptional learning experience for the participants. We will use practical tools and strategies to provide training and support for the participants to achieve course objectives.

The course in given in both English and Arabic languages.

Registration Fees
The total cost of the summer course is 300 Qatari riyals per student(including the cost of the Arduino kit)Accreditation
Upon the successful completion of the course, each students will receive a certification of completion, issued by Qatar University Young Scientists center.Additional information
- Each participating student will receive an Arduino kit from Qatar University Young Scientists center.
- Attendance is online, through Microsoft teams program
- Attendance is mandatory; students will not receive a certificate if they missed more than once session without prior permission.
